NORTH HIGHLAND WOODTURNERS ASSOCIATION
The North Highland Woodturners Association was formed in 2004 to promote the art and craft of woodturning. We aim to share our expertise with people who wish to take up woodturning as a hobby, or hope to become professional woodturners – or those who simply want to improve their woodturning skills.
Every Sunday in August the Castlehill Heritage Centre are having Cream Tea afternoons from 2pm – 4pm.
MEETINGS
We meet at the Castlehill Heritage Centre on the first and third Saturday of the month between 9am and 12noon.
BEGINNERS
Beginners will be given tuition in the basic methods of woodturning. Instructions on tool sharpening will be given to all new members.
SAFETY
Our clean and well lit workshop was set up with safety in mind.
Safety glasses or full visor must be worn when using the lathe.
BOOKS AND DVDS
The club provides a library of books and DVDs that members can borrow.
BECOMING A MEMBER
Joining the club is easy, either contact us using the contact form or come along to one of our meetings.
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION
£50 for adult members.
£25 for junior members (under 21).
We are an affiliated branch of the Association of Woodsumers of Great Britain (AWGB). This means that when you join us you will also become a member of the AWGB.
Our club welcomes all levels of woodturners and people of all ages and from all walks of life.
